A brief and sensible explanation:

uncle squid: I'm a normal guy with normal aspirations and normal sensibilities. I believe my goals and ambitions are that of most people. I have no real distaste for humanity, but sometimes I wonder...I wonder what this cold Universe would be like if the spark of life had never graced this planet. And when I have thoughts like that, I hold my sense of self as tight as I can and try to go to sleep. Because after all, sleep is the greatest pacifier that there is. What is better than sleep? Anyway, I am fascinated with all things horror and will write about them at great length. I hope you want to keep up!
